Under direction of the Workforce Diversity Specialist, the Analyst II serves as the lead analyst for disability employment initiatives and workforce development programs designed to increase employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
Responsibilities
- Independently performs complex analytical, consultative, and project management assignments.
- Develops and implements statewide employment initiatives.
- Provides expert guidance on inclusive hiring practices.
- Serves as a subject matter expert on disability employment, accessibility, and workforce development.
Requirements
- Lawful authorization to work in the United States (the Department does not sponsor employment visas for this position).
- Residency in the State of California at the time of appointment (per California Government Code requirements).
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted, typed in 12-point Arial font, single spaced, and no more than two pages in length. The SOQ should describe strategies used to promote and educate disability inclusion in the workplace.
- If using list eligibility from an online exam, documentation (e.g., copy of transcript, degree, license) verifying Minimum Qualifications (MQs) must be included with the application.
- MQs will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. Applicants not meeting MQs may not be considered.
Desirable Qualifications
- Knowledge of computer software programs including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, Zoom, and PowerPoint.
- Project management and tracking of documents and calendars.
- General understanding of the state hiring process.
- Ability to analyze and interpret applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently, public speaking, and delivering presentations via in-person or virtual platforms.
- Maintain constant and regular attendance, develop and maintain positive relationships with personnel within the Department and outside agencies, and maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid, in-office/telework position (per Government Code 14200). Telework agreements can be modified or cancelled at any time, and the incumbent may be required to report to the office or any designated location.
- Work performed in an open-spaced, partitioned office environment.
- Requires using a computer and sitting for extended periods while reviewing and/or preparing documents.
- All commute expenses to the reporting location are the responsibility of the selected candidate.
Pay
- Classification: Analyst II
- Salary Range: $6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month
- New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
- Shall consider: Analyst I (Salary Ranges: $3,861.00 - $4,839.00, $4,181.00 - $5,233.00, or $5,014.00 - $6,276.00).

Schedule
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Effective July 1, 2025, State employees are subject to a salary reduction of three percent in exchange for five hours per month of Personal Leave.
