Job Description and Duties

Effective July, 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented in response to the status of the State budget. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit R01, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by three percent and will receive five PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.

Responsibilities

• Supports the daily operations of communications functions across CDCR and CCHCS, including maintenance of internal and external communications platforms.
• Develops communication materials for internal and external audiences.
• Coordinates with stakeholders, including program staff, executive leadership, Public Information Officers, and Information Technology Services.
• Serves as a liaison between communications, program staff, executive leadership, Public Information Officers, and Information Technology Services to support enterprise-wide messaging, digital communications, employee engagement, and public-facing information efforts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other digital communication tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
• Two years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
• Experience with project management software and data analysis tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other digital communication tools.
• Strong understanding of digital marketing and social media trends.
