About the role

Under the direction of the Supervisor I, the Analyst II performs complex analytical work in support of the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s (BAR) procurement program. The incumbent independently manages a full range of procurement activities and serves as a technical resource on state procurement laws, policies, and procedures. The Analyst II shall exercise a high degree of judgement and independence in performing complex analytical assignments related to procurement planning, solicitation development, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex analytical work in support of the Bureau of Automotive Repair’s procurement program.
  • Manages a full range of procurement activities independently.
  • Serves as a technical resource on state procurement laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Exercises a high degree of judgement and independence in procurement planning, solicitation development, and compliance.

  • Provides equitable services and treatment to all members of the public.
  • Collaborates with underserved communities and tribal governments to improve outcomes for all Californians.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works 40 hours per week in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. The incumbent must be able to frequently remain in a stationary position at a workstation throughout the day and must occasionally position self to perform a variety of tasks including retrieval of files.

Requirements

  • Must meet the Minimum Requirements stated in the Class Specification for ANALYST II.
  • Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview but must reside in the State of California once hired and start working.
  • Subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations (Conflict of Interest Regulations). The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.

Pay

$6,031.00 - $7,547.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.

  • Work Week: Monday - Friday
  • Telework: Hybrid

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined in Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP) of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

The Bureau of Automotive Repair's mission is to protect and serve California consumers by ensuring a fair and competitive automotive repair marketplace and administering a model motor vehicle emissions reduction program.
