Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) requires each full-time employee to receive a 3% reduction in pay in exchange for five (5) hours of PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries listed do not reflect this change.

About the role
The Peace Officer Selection and Employee Development – Office of Peace Officer Selection conducts recruitment, written exams, and background investigations for all peace officer applicants. The office is a secured-access facility with an on-site fitness center, free parking, and nearby shopping locations. The physical location is 5168 N Blythe Ave, Fresno County.
This position is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule for employees who can satisfactorily perform their essential work functions independently and remotely. Telework is available only to residents of California and may be offered for 1 day a week with 4 days in office. Telework designations are subject to change at any time per Hiring Authority direction.

Requirements
- Refer to the Class Specification for minimum requirements.
- Include a copy of your college transcripts or degree if applicable for minimum qualifications and/or eligibility determination.
- Foreign education must be verified for U.S. equivalency through a NACES-approved credential evaluation service.
- Candidates new to CDCR/CCHCS must submit to a background investigation using Live Scan Fingerprinting and a Tuberculosis test/evaluation prior to appointment, followed by annual testing thereafter.
- Do not include confidential information (e.g., Social Security Number, birthdate, student ID, driver’s license number unless required, examination results, marital status, or age) on application documents.
Qualifications
- Possession of minimum qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment.
- If meeting qualifications through education, include unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment.
- Candidates who do not meet minimum qualifications will be withheld from the eligibility list and may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.
Pay
Monthly salary range: $3,861.00 - $6,464.00. New to State candidates will be hired at the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
Schedule
Full-time, 12-month limited-term position. Hybrid telework schedule may be available (1 day remote, 4 days in office).
