About the role
The Analyst I position at Microbac Laboratories, Inc. involves providing routine scientific tasks under close supervision. Responsibilities include preparing and processing samples, utilizing specialized equipment, and maintaining laboratory records.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and process samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Collect information about the composition of substances to support analytical testing needs
- Utilize specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to process and analyze samples
- Accurately record observations and data, and interpret basic results
- Maintain the integrity of procedures and record professional activity for peer review
- Monitor and address sample backlog issues
- Maintain accurate, up to date logs, notebooks, and equipment records
- Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
- Comply with and promote Safety and Quality programs
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, terminology, and instrumentation
- Computer literacy
- Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
