About the role

The Analyst I position at Microbac Laboratories, Inc. involves providing routine scientific tasks under close supervision. Responsibilities include preparing and processing samples, utilizing specialized equipment, and maintaining laboratory records.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process samples according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Collect information about the composition of substances to support analytical testing needs
  • Utilize specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation to process and analyze samples
  • Accurately record observations and data, and interpret basic results
  • Maintain the integrity of procedures and record professional activity for peer review
  • Monitor and address sample backlog issues
  • Maintain accurate, up to date logs, notebooks, and equipment records
  • Perform necessary laboratory administrative functions such as filing paperwork, photocopying, reviewing of data, and entering data into computerized Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Comply with and promote Safety and Quality programs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; two years of related experience or a bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory practices, terminology, and instrumentation
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats
