AM Server

Job Purpose

Under general supervision, provides prompt and courteous food service to restaurant customers. Warm, knowledgeable service and helpful guidance reassure guests they’ve made the right choice to stay with us. Responsible for greeting every guest with a smile and positive attitude, preparing and presenting items, organizing and maintaining a clean service area, cleaning tables and area, and following all health codes.

Ensures that all guests are dealt with in a professional, consistent manner. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.

Responsibilities

• Take guests' food and drink orders and ensure that all orders are accurate and brought to each table in a timely manner
• Aid in setting tables and rearranging tables to accommodate larger parties
• Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis
• Maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards with anyone entering the kitchen and restaurant area

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School diploma / Secondary qualification or equivalent
• Experience with Marriott standards
• Ability to perform the following: greet guests with a smile and positive attitude, prepare and present items, organize and maintain a clean service area, clean tables and area, follow all health codes, deal with guests and employees professionally and consistently, handle difficult situations diplomatically, take guests' food and drink orders accurately and promptly, assist with setting tables and rearranging tables, ensure compliance with safety programs, Health Department requirements, and job safety analysis, maintain and enforce sanitation laws and safety standards, work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
• Passion for people and service, strong communication skills, reading and writing abilities, basic math skills, problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities
