About the role
ALUMNI TRAVEL PROGRAM MANAGER, Alumni Association CEO, strengthens alumni engagement and generates sustainable revenue for the Institute; manages approximately 20 curated trips annually, combining faculty expertise, distinctive educational content, and carefully designed MIT experiences that reinforce alumni connection to the Institute; balances alumni relations, financial sustainability, operational excellence, educational impact, and risk management as core priorities; and identifies opportunities to expand participation, reach, and revenue.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of four years of professional experience in program or operations management in a service-oriented field, preferably in the travel industry, hospitality, or event management
- Knowledge of international travel logistics and regulations
- Success managing programs or operations for a service-oriented organization
- Sound judgement, discretion, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective while managing complex, sensitive, and time-sensitive situations
- Strong financial acumen
- Comfort with budget management and financial forecasting
- Excellent project management skills
- Attention to detail
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency with technology platforms, including CRM systems (Salesforce), data analysis tools, Microsoft Office, and web-based applications
PREFERRED
- Experience with survey/analytics platforms, such as Qualtrics
- Experience with budget management software and database
- Familiarity with educational programming and adult learning principles
- Experience in high education, nonprofit sector, or alumni relations
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally occasionally
