About the role

Operation Smile Student Programs empowers youth globally through advocacy, education, leadership, and service. The Program Manager, Alumni Programs, is responsible for supporting and growing engagement with student alumni through relationship building, communications, events, and program coordination. This role helps maintain alumni connections, develops engagement opportunities, and supports initiatives that strengthen the global alumni network.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the student alumni database, ensuring accurate records and engagement tracking.
  • Coordinate and manage content for alumni LinkedIn groups and other social media platforms to promote alumni engagement.
  • Support alumni engagement initiatives, including mentoring opportunities, volunteer involvement, networking events, and student program participation.
  • Coordinate Regional Alumni Board activities, including scheduling meetings, supporting communications, and assisting with fundraising events.
  • Partner with Student Programs staff to implement alumni engagement strategies aligned with program goals.
  • Assist in planning and executing alumni events, both virtual and in-person, across the United States.
  • Build and maintain relationships with undergraduate and graduate student communities, young professionals, and alumni volunteers.
  • Support collaboration with international teams to encourage alumni-led activities and engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Development staff on alumni participation in fundraising and stewardship initiatives.
  • Track program outcomes and prepare reports on alumni engagement activities and participation metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in alumni relations, program management, student engagement, nonprofit programs, higher education, or a related field.
  • Experience coordinating events, volunteer programs, or stakeholder engagement initiatives preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable facilitating meetings and presenting to groups.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  • Previous involvement with Operation Smile is preferred.

Pay

The anticipated salary range for this position is $55,000 to $70,000, which may vary slightly based on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
