Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts weekly rehearsals and additional rehearsals as needed.
- Directs the Ensemble’s performances and plans and administers as necessary.
- Participates in an Ensembles Concert in the fall, spring, and other projects and programs.
- Adheres to safety guidelines and creates the production calendar in collaboration with the school and VPA department.
- Applies a social justice approach and equity lens in all aspects of the process.
- Collaborates and works professionally with other music directors and ensembles when partnering.
- Designs and conducts recruitment/outreach programs to attract young musicians.
- Rehearses with students to ensure they master their parts.
- Coordinates with the VPA department for necessary support staff such as additional musicians, accompanists, etc.
- Maintains adherence to formal processes before anyone is permitted to begin work.
Minimum Requirements
- Supervises any assistants, volunteers, and students involved in concerts and performances.
- Willing and able to work as part of the music department team and with CRLS and VPA.
- Valid Massachusetts Music Education certification.
- Current district staff member (preferred).
- Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and teaching of music.
Education, Experience, and/or Certification
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
Length of Contract
January 12, 2026 to June 5, 2026
Contract Amount
Flat Rate $1225.00
