About the role
The purpose of this position is to manage and oversee the operations of the Municipal Court Warrant Division. This is accomplished by ensuring all policies and procedures are followed, providing security protection to the City’s Court personnel and visitors, executing arrest warrants on wanted fugitives, transporting prisoners, serving Summons and Subpoenas, managing operational activities, supervising personnel, and maintaining records and reports of warrants issued. This position provides direction to other employees.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all policies and procedures are followed
- Provide security protection to the City’s Court personnel and visitors
- Execute arrest warrants on wanted fugitives

Requirements
- Six months to one year education beyond high school
- A combination of experience and training in law enforcement as a supervisor and division head
- Minimum three years of experience as a peace officer in local government with progressive responsible experience in a Municipal Court (Bailiff, Security Screening, and Serving Warrants)
- Minimum two years of experience as a supervisor
- Current Master Peace Officer Certification from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) in good standing is preferred
- TLETS Certification, Valid Valid Court Security Specialist Certification or the ability to obtain certification within one year of employment
