Aircraft Mechanic II/Hydraulics' Mechanic

This position is contingent on contract award. Location: Fairchild AFB WA with CONUS/OCONUS travel. This is a non-exempt service employee classification.

Pay

Rate: $30–40/hour. A health and welfare fringe benefit allowance of $5.09 per hour up to 40 hours per week is provided in addition to the base hourly rate.

About the role

The Aircraft Mechanic II/Hydraulics Mechanic installs, maintains, and repairs fluid power machinery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent plus a technical or vocational certificate in mechanics or hydraulics
• Must be a US citizen with a valid Driver’s License
• Active Secret Clearance
• Minimum of 3–5 years of direct hands-on work, with preference for prior work on Air Force wide-body platforms (preferably KC-135) or equivalent
• Valid passport
• Able to read blueprints and technical schematics
• Proficient with hand tools and adherence to strict safety rules for high-pressure systems
• Able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime

Responsibilities

• Fix or replace broken pumps, motors, cylinders, and hoses
• Test hydraulic circuits with pressure gauges and flow meters to find leaks or blockages
• Inspect machinery regularly to prevent sudden breakdowns
• Maintain clear logs of all parts used, tests run, and repairs made
• Travel CONUS/OCONUS as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
