About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking an Aircraft Electrical Technician A to join the H145 Final Assembly Line team based in Columbus, MS. The role involves performing work as an Electrical installer in the build-up and fabrication, repair, replacement of aircraft electrical/electronic components and systems in the manufacture, maintenance or refurbishing of aircraft and function check of components to verify proper functioning of components and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Apply basic techniques and procedures of electrical installation.
  • Read and follow detailed plans, diagrams and different standards in the fabrication of wire harnesses and electrical components.
  • Lay-in route wires on form board, tying, lacing and apply appropriate anti-chaff protection.
  • Install solder shields, splices, daisy chains and different electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and diodes etc...
  • Soldering of connectors, contacts and components.
  • Completing forms and records pertaining to completion of assigned work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years of aircraft electrical or related experience.
  • Avionics and Cabling Class (like offered by East Mississippi Community College) is desirable.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Familiarity with common aviation type tooling.

Qualifications

  • US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of electrical installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using common aviation type tooling.

Pay

Competitive base salary with potential for incentive compensation.

On-site or remote work, depending on the needs of the project.

  • Onsite or remote: 95%
  • Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings.
  • DailyHearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms.
  • DailySpeaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications.
  • DailyEquipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts.
  • DailyCarrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • DailyLifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs.
  • DailyPushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools.
  • DailySitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer.
  • AnnuallySquatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving.
  • DailyStanding: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor.
  • DailyTravel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking (include routine walking such as to a shared printer to retrieve documents): able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
  • DailyPersonal Protective Equipment required: Required PPE includes, but is not limited to, Safety Shoes, Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Respirators/Masks, and/or Protective Gloves as required by site and/or customer site.
  • DailyAdministrative position only PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
