Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in managing the day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure prompt, courteous, and effective service.
- Supervise mixing, loading, and dispatch activities.
- Manage facility assets including routine maintenance, equipment replacement plans, and driver equipment inspections.
- Oversee location risk management, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting safety and emergency response training, and performing ongoing site inspections (DOT, driver records, state chemist records).
- Directly manage some operational team members by clearly defining job assignments, providing training, and offering ongoing coaching.
- Help maintain inventories at appropriate levels to ensure service with minimal delivery delays while meeting inventory turnover goals.
- Assist in making crop protection and fertility recommendations using SSI, DataOnTouch, field plans, mapping, and record keeping.
- Aid in establishing and implementing short-term goals and budgets that align with long-range plans for growth in operations, including facility, equipment, and personnel.
- Communicate with the manager and utilize additional resources (other branch managers, credit, marketing, human resources, etc.) to enhance profitability.
- Support sales activities and handle tasks for assigned accounts.
Skills And Qualifications
- Class A CDL with hazmat endorsement.
- Category 1A applicators license.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Team player with a willingness to contribute to a successful operation and company.
- Ability and desire to solve problems in the fields of crop diagnostics, crop protection, seed, and fertility.
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of progressive agronomy-related experience.
- Relative knowledge of crop diagnostics, crop protection, seed, and fertility.
