AGRIntelligence Technician

About the role

Helena Agri-Enterprises, LLC is a leading full-service agronomic solutions provider with over 6,000 employees and 450+ locations nationwide. The AGRIntelligence Technician trains and assists the location team in the implementation and use of precision agriculture technologies, including field data collection and analysis. This role is part of Helena's trademarked AGRIntelligence program, which helps growers make informed business decisions and identify potential field problems before they escalate.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate new digital farming and information management services and technologies.
• Perform quality control on AGRIntelligence products created for customers.
• Deliver, communicate, and present products and services to customers with the assistance of the sales team.
• Assist the sales team with selling, positioning, delivery, and presentation of products and services.
• Ensure products and services meet company standards and requirements.
• Communicate and interact with the Branch Manager, sales team, field support, and other AGRIntelligence team members to meet customer deadlines and expectations.
• Provide technical training and support to the Helena team and customers using AGRIntelligence branded products/services, AGRIntelligence 360, and related products.
• Serve as the primary source for all field work such as soil sampling, tissue sampling, EC data collection, and setting field boundaries.
• Act as the liaison between the branch, Sales Representatives, sales support team, AGRIntelligence Specialist, Product Manager, and Agronomist for all AGRIntelligence services.
• Assist the branch in other service-related sales such as seed treating.
• Facilitate teaching activities on the use of GIS, GPS-related field and agronomy software, and office software.
• Perform analysis on gathered field data to determine field management strategies and make crop recommendations.
• Ensure follow-up is completed on all AGRIntelligence offerings sold by Helena.
• Train and assist the location team with precision farming activities, including soil sampling using GIS technology and electrical conductivity equipment.
• Serve as the key contact for hardware and software issues, providing troubleshooting assistance for precision agriculture software and hardware.
• Communicate market intelligence and competitive threats to Business Unit leadership.
• Ensure all data collected is safely and securely transferred to the Field Support Center for timely processing.
• Support the installation of precision agriculture equipment such as VR hardware, yield monitors, telemetry hardware/software, and other IoT equipment.
• Encourage thorough data collection among users and customers of the AGRIntelligence system.
• Drive a company vehicle as required.
• Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or associate's degree is required; one year of related work experience is required. Alternatively, no degree and three years of related work experience will be considered.
• General understanding of geography, GIS, GPS systems, and other agronomy-related software.
• Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to read, write, and speak in English; communicating in Spanish is a valuable asset.
• Ability to travel by various means up to 25-30% or less.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to meet all company requirements to drive a Helena vehicle.
• Successful completion of a drug test and background check.

Work Environment & Physical Aspects

The work environment includes both office settings and outdoor conditions in all types of weather. Exposure to outdoor elements, moving equipment, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, vibrations, and risk of electrical shock may occur. Physical requirements include:

• Using hands for various tasks, including talking, hearing, walking, standing, sitting (8+ hours/day).
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs or more.
• Reaching overhead (up to 25 lbs).
• Climbing, gripping, grasping, and twisting using hands and wrists.
• Bending and stooping for long periods.
• Working below knee level and above shoulder level for short periods.
