About the role
RiverBend Materials, a CRH company, is a dynamic, growth-oriented, national aggregate, asphalt, concrete, and construction family of companies. This position is located in Salem, OR.
Responsibilities
- Providing a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Cash handling procedures which include receiving and logging cash from C.O.D. sales and gravel tickets, and balancing and maintaining the cash box.
- Schedule, dispatch, and control the appropriate level of drivers required to satisfy customer demand while maintaining safety and efficiency goals established by the company.
- Working alongside truck drivers and team members to ensure delivery of high-quality products.
- Accurately record delivery and product information into dispatch system.
- Ability to negotiate delivery times with customers.
- May coordinate and schedule deliveries of aggregate products to construction and residential sites.
- Efficiently handle a high volume of calls.
- Ensure efficiency of weighing trucks across scale.
- Maintain load sizes of company trucks.
- Communicate with loader operator and batch plant operator via two-way radio to accomplish the loading of pick-up customers.
- Traveling between various work site locations (local) as needed.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Promptly communicate with supervisors on any flaws in material.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
- Must obtain a valid Drivers’ License.
- Excellent organizational, customer service, and telephone skills.
- Demonstrates ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
- Detailed-oriented and thorough in all duties and able to work extended hours when needed.
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a high stress environment.
- Ability to perform well in a small team environment.
- Ability to handle problems as they arise in a professional and courteous manner.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
- Ability to work overtime and varying shifts including early mornings, late afternoons, and weekends as needed.
- Conforms to and maintains company or state rules and regulations.
Requirements
- One to two years related experience in customer service field.
- Trucking and construction related industry experience.
- Ability to navigate various GPS systems.
- Familiarity with local delivery areas.
