Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review Affordable Housing resident files for eligibility and compliance with all required laws.
  • Ensure review of files within 24 hours of receiving.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements, and implement necessary modifications.
  • Attend TDHCA trainings annually.
  • Participate in HCCP training within the first two years of employment and pass the exam to receive the HCCP designation.
  • Conduct tax credit reviews by outside entities.
  • Travel Requirement: This position entails travel, estimated at 50% of work time annually. Travel may be required for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.

Education & Experience

  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach are essential.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in RealPage Onesite Tax Credit software, are required.
  • Housing Credit Certified Professional certification is preferred but not mandatory; if not already certified, the requirement to attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and pass the exam is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the HUD program is beneficial.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
