About the role
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review the files based on information presented by the applicants and ensure review of files within 24 hours of receiving.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
- Maintain awareness of changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement necessary modifications.
- Attend TDHCA trainings annually.
- Participate in HCCP training within the first two years of employment and obtain a passing score on the exam to receive the HCCP designation.
- Conduct tax credit reviews by outside entities.
- Travel Requirement: This position entails travel, estimated at 50% of work time annually. Travel may be required for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.
Requirements
- Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in RealPage Onesite Tax Credit software.
- Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus, but if not already certified, the requirement to attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and include a passing score on the exam.
- Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
