Affordable Housing Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Affordable Housing applications and ensuring they are eligible and compliant with applicable and current regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review the files based on information presented by the applicants and ensure review of files within 24 hours of receiving.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures as set forth in the personnel manual.
• Maintain awareness of changes in LIHTC regulations and requirements and implement necessary modifications.
• Attend TDHCA trainings annually.
• Participate in HCCP training within the first two years of employment and obtain a passing score on the exam to receive the HCCP designation.
• Participate in tax credit reviews by outside entities.
• Travel Requirement: This position entails travel, estimated at 50% of work time annually. Travel may be required for property visits, conferences, training sessions, or other business-related activities.

Requirements

• Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach.
• Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in RealPage Onesite Tax Credit software.
• Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus, but not required. If not already certified, the requirement to attend HCCP training within the first two years of employment and include a passing score on the exam.
• Knowledge of the HUD program is a plus.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Individuals in this position should possess strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented approach. Strong computer literacy skills are essential to this position, including RealPage Onesite Tax Credit software. Housing Credit Certified Professional certification a plus, but not required.
