About the role
The ACE Investigator position at CGS involves assisting a large Federal agency initiative with fraud detection and investigation. Key responsibilities include generating new investigations, supporting ongoing cases, and preparing detailed reports for prosecutors.
Responsibilities
- Generate new investigations and continue existing ones involving fraud in healthcare, contracting, and grants.
- Meet regularly with ACE attorneys and agency personnel to develop fraud investigations.
- Utilize electronic databases to identify documents, witnesses, and evidence.
- Prepare investigative reports detailing findings, analyses, and recommendations.
- Analyze large-scale data to develop leads and determine relevance to allegations.
- Examine records and gather facts to build proof necessary for litigation or settlement.
- Assist in interviews, depositions, and witness examinations.
- Prepare and serve subpoenas as needed.
- Develop investigative strategies and analyze evidence.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge and skills in investigative techniques and fraud detection.
- Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and other databases.
- Experience with document review/management platforms and analyzing claims data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state, or local laws.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, with a focus on law enforcement, criminal justice, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 5 years of experience in investigative roles, preferably in government or related fields.
- Licenses/Certifications: Law enforcement certification or equivalent experience.
Skills
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using legal research tools and databases.
