About the role
Perform Third-Party Source Inspections and Audits on behalf of Unitek's client at their Suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Inspectors: Conduct in-process and final source inspections including first article inspections per AS9102.
- Read and understand complex engineering drawings, specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ANSI/ASME Y 14.5.
- Perform mechanical measurements for verifying the compliance of complex machined, formed, and assembled aircraft/engine components.
- Support urgent production requirements with minimal advance notification for inspection (avg. 24-48 hrs.).
- Auditors: Verify compliance and effectiveness of suppliers' quality systems by performing supplier audits, surveys, and process walks.
- Work with suppliers to implement and verify corrective actions.
- Act as a liaison between the customer and supplier while resolving corrective action requests.
- Prepare audit reports reflecting quality performance and corrective action by analyzing data collected.
- Follow up with audited parties and substantiate findings with documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum three years inspection experience.
- Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings, specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerances per ANSI/ASME Y 14.5.
- Ability to perform mechanical measurements for verifying the compliance of complex machined, formed, and assembled aircraft/engine components.
- Ability to support urgent production requirements with minimal advance notification for inspection (avg. 24-48 hrs.).
- Supplier locations include Cheshire, East Hartford, Fairfield, Meriden, Milford, New Britain, Torrington, West Hartford, and Westbrook, CT; Southwick, Westfield, and Wilmington, MA; Hudson, Laconia, and Londonderry, NH; Edgewood, Farmingdale, and Hauppauge, NY.
- Complete a drug screening and criminal background check.
- High school diploma or proof of equivalent education level.
- Meet visual acuity requirements (pass color vision test and score 20/30 or better in at least one eye, natural or corrected).
