Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for an Aerospace Machinist supporting Test Operations and Sustainment efforts at Arnold AFB in Tullahoma, TN. The selected candidate must be available to work any shift, with shift determination based on work priorities.
About the Role
The successful candidate will perform technical, mechanical, electrical, and manual work in the testing, operating, and/or assembly and shop areas of an engineering test facility under general supervision.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections and diagnose faults in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems of manual and CNC lathes and mills.
- Execute timely repairs and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Replace worn or defective parts such as belts, bearings, and/or motors.
- Troubleshoot and repair CNC components, including controllers, servos, and drives.
- Read and interpret G-Code and M-Code to diagnose operational issues.
- Maintain and repair manual lathes and mills, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance and repair work performed and manage the inventory of spare parts.
- Prepare test facility equipment and test articles for operations, including installation and troubleshooting.
- Operate plant and test equipment during tests, including controls for engines and rockets.
- Remove test articles after tests and install/maintain facility systems.
- Accomplish maintenance and servicing work required to place and keep test facility equipment in operation.
- Use a wide variety of hand and machine tools, powered equipment, measuring, and testing equipment.
- Instruct less experienced lower-level grade craftsmen.
- Wear company-issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
- Perform other work as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Four years of machinist experience in the working section of an aeronautical test facility operation. Progressive experience as an outside machinist, machinist, millwright, aircraft mechanic, or heavy equipment mechanic may be substituted.
- Ability to skillfully operate and work with a wide variety of hand and machine tools associated with the trade.
- Ability to read and work from blueprints, diagrams, and sketches.
- Valid State Driver’s License.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English well enough to understand, give, and take directions.
- Current United States Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic and/or Advanced Rigging Training.
- Active Secret clearance.

Pay
Starting Hourly Rate: $38.44 - $42.71.
