About the role

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Advanced Truck Technician / Mechanic to join our team. You’ll be a leader in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring precision, efficiency, and lasting quality. You’ll analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions, determine repair strategies, and execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems including engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. Additionally, you’ll serve as a mentor and technical resource for other technicians in the shop, maximizing uptime and getting trucks back on the road quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair medium and heavy Class 7 & 8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Analyze complex mechanical and electronic malfunctions and determine the best repair strategy.
  • Execute repairs or rebuilds on major systems such as engines, transmissions, axles, steering, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other technicians in the shop.
  • Maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism in every task.
  • Ensure repairs are completed with precision, efficiency, and lasting quality.
  • Maximize uptime and get trucks back on the road quickly, safely, and correctly the first time.

Requirements

  • 5 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty Class 7/8 trucks.
  • Experience with engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Must provide own tools.

Pay

$40.90–$45.45 per hour, depending on experience.
