About the role

The position is available at WVU Medicine - Primary Care Clinic - Spring Mills (61 Campus Drive Martinsburg, WV 25404). The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. Call requirements are after-hours phone calls only, occurring 1-2 days per month and 3 weekends per year. Electronic Health Record (EHR) used is EPIC. The expected patient volume is 16-18 per day, and the expectation of patient age range is from birth to provider's preference.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to patients in a clinical setting.
  • Manage patient care plans and coordinate with other healthcare providers.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as necessary.
  • Document patient encounters and treatment plans in the EHR.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety guidelines.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice medicine in the state of West Virginia.
  • Experience in primary care settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an approved residency program in family medicine or pediatrics.
  • Board certification in family medicine or pediatrics.

Skills

  • Excellent clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain composure.
