Advanced Practice Provider General Surgery
About the Role
As a General Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in General Surgery, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and an excellent patient experience. In this role, you will support a multidisciplinary surgical team across inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings, assisting in the OR, rounding on hospitalized patients, and managing post-operative care in the clinic. You will collaborate closely with surgeons and other APPs to deliver comprehensive care for general surgery patients.
- Practice at LDS Hospital
- Full-time schedule with an anticipated 4x10 structure (four 10-hour shifts per week) with no call or weekend responsibilities expected
- Collaborate with a large, multidisciplinary surgical team, including subspecialists in breast, bariatric, and advanced abdominal surgery, supported by an established APP group and clinical staff
- Care for patients across the surgical continuum, including OR support, inpatient rounding, and outpatient clinic with exposure to common general surgery conditions such as gallbladder disease and hernias
Responsibilities
- Support a multidisciplinary surgical team in inpatient, outpatient, and operative settings
- Assist in the operating room (OR)
- Round on hospitalized patients
- Manage post-operative care in the clinic
Requirements
- APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program
- AANP, ANCC, or AAPA certification
- Active, unobstructed Utah license, or the ability to obtain one
- BLS and DEA certification
- Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process
- Demonstrated interest in surgery or procedural care during training or prior experience
- Exposure to inpatient or hospital-based care settings during training or prior experience
- Ability to support care across inpatient, outpatient, and procedural environments
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in the operating room, including surgical rotations or prior OR-based role
- Exposure to general surgery cases (procedures and post-operative care)
- Experience with basic procedural skills such as suturing or wound care
- Background in acute care settings
- Familiarity with perioperative patient care and surgical workflow

Pay
The hourly range for this position is $57.33 - $88.47. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
Schedule
Full-time, 40 scheduled weekly hours with an anticipated 4x10 structure (four 10-hour shifts per week).

This role is based at Intermountain Health LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
