About the role
In collaboration with supervising physicians, the APRN directly manages the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices. The APRN is an expert in patient care who provides quality care, performs patient assessments, H & Ps, and takes a thorough medical history. The APRN can order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, develops medical diagnoses, appropriate treatment plans, prescribes medical regimens, and educates patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care. May perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges.
The APRN works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure quality of care across the health system. The APRN is a clinical team leader that intervenes and manages deteriorating patients, integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into their scope of practice, and may participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice. The APRN participates in and facilitates patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay, and improved patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care and perform patient assessments, H & Ps, and medical histories
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests

- Prescribe medical regimens and educate patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care
- Perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges
- Work directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure quality care
- Act as a clinical team leader to intervene and manage deteriorating patients
- Integrate evidence-based practice and technological advances into scope of practice
- Participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care
- Facilitate patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay, and improved patient satisfaction
Requirements
For APRNs:
- Master’s degree
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license
- 3 years of relevant RN experience
- Compliant with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure
- DEA License (as per specialty/function)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (as per specialty/function)
- Nurse Practitioner National Certification
- Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
For PAs:
- Associate’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
- Valid Florida PA License
- NCCPA Certification
- DEA License
- BLS Certification
- Compliant with state of Florida requirements for CMEs and licensure
- Must obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
- Oncology experience preferred
- ICU and ER experience preferred

Pay
Estimated salary range for this position is $118,907.47 – $158,146.94 per year depending on experience.
