Responsibilities

In collaboration with supervising physicians, the APRN directly manages the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices. The APRN is an expert in patient care who:

• Provides quality care, performs patient assessments, H & Ps, and takes a thorough medical history
• Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests
• Develops medical diagnoses, appropriate treatment plans, prescribes medical regimens, and educates patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care
• Performs approved procedures and orders medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges
• Works directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure quality of care across the health system
• Acts as a clinical team leader that intervenes and manages deteriorating patients
• Integrates evidence-based practice and technological advances into their scope of practice
• Participates in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice
• Facilitates patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay, and improved patient satisfaction

Requirements

Qualified APRNs will require:

• Master’s degree
• Basic Life Support certification
• Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure
• 3 years of relevant RN experience
• Compliance with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure
• DEA License (as per specialty/function)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (as per specialty/function)
• Nurse Practitioner National Certification
• Medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location

Qualified PAs will require:

• Associate’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree (preferred)
• Valid Florida PA License
• NCCPA Certification
• DEA License
• BLS Certification
• Oncology experience (preferred)
• Compliance with state of Florida requirements for CMEs and licensure
• Medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location

Pay

Estimated salary range for this position is $118,907.47 - $158,146.94 per year depending on experience.
