Responsibilities
- Directly manage the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or other communication devices in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Provide quality care, perform patient assessments, H & Ps, and take thorough medical histories
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests
- Develop medical diagnoses, appropriate treatment plans, prescribe medical regimens, and educate patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care
- Perform approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the Delineation of Privileges
- Work directly with physicians, staff, administration, patients, and families to ensure quality of care across the health system
- Act as a clinical team leader, intervening and managing deteriorating patients
- Integrate evidence-based practice and technological advances into scope of practice
- Participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within the area of practice
- Facilitate patient throughput, optimal patient outcomes, optimal length of stay, and improved patient satisfaction
Requirements
Degrees: Master's degree.
- Basic Life Support certification
- Advanced Practice Registered Nurse licensure
- 3 years of relevant RN experience
- Compliant with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure
- DEA License required as per specialty/function
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support required as per specialty/function
- Nurse Practitioner National Certification required
- Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
Additional Qualifications
- Oncology, ICU, and ER experience preferred
- For Physician Assistants (PAs):
- Associate's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred
- Valid Florida PA License
- NCCPA Certification
- DEA License
- BLS Certification
- Oncology experience preferred
- Must be compliant with state of Florida requirements for CMEs and licensure
- Must obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location
Pay
Estimated salary range for this position is $118,907.47 - $158,146.94 per year depending on experience.
