Responsibilities

  • Use equipment to visualize internal structures, blood flow, and obtain measurements.
  • Follow protocols and techniques as prescribed by the Cardio-Vascular Medical Director (Cardio-Vascular Sonographer) or Imaging Medical Director (General Sonographer and Advanced Imaging Technologists).
  • Practice within the scope of credentials and with a valid written physician’s order.
  • Perform exams per protocol using diagnostic criteria under physician supervision; complete required information on PACS.
  • Promote smooth and efficient operation of the Imaging Department through appropriate utilization and management of clerical functions, including document handling, interpersonal relationships, and information gathering/dissemination.
  • Meet all requirements set forth by accreditation bodies (ICAEL, ICAVL, ACR) and governing bodies (JCAHO, federal, state, and department-specific).
  • Undergo skill evaluations by the area supervisor or assigned preceptor.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Proof of completion of an AAS or equivalent program required.
  • Graduate from an accredited program with clinical experience required.
  • Registered and/or certified by ARDMS, ARRT, CCI, ARMRIT, CNMT, MQSA, and hold an advanced imaging credential.
  • License required if mandated by state.
  • To qualify for Advanced Imaging II: minimum of two additional registries/certifications OR one additional registry/certification in combination with a bachelor’s degree or higher in Radiology Sciences.
  • Current and valid BLS (AHA) certification required.
  • Previous experience performing imaging on patients of all ages; hospital-based experience preferred.

Employment Status: Per Diem. Shift: Variable.
