Advanced EMT - Helen Keller - PRN - Shift Varies

Responsibilities

• Affords assessments of nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and takes and records patient's vital signs.
• Maintains good driving status and insurable driving status.
• Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel via HEMSI approved methods.
• Maintains updated credentials for licensing and protocol changes.
• Documents patient care accurately in all HEMSI approved reporting methods.
• Observes and adheres to safety and security procedures for vehicle and station.
• Maintains unit readiness through supply and equipment restocking.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance on emergency vehicle.
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle and station.
• Assists in directing and coordinating additional personnel on scene, including volunteers.
• Faithfully reports to work and maintains acceptable attendance.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and family members.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
• State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT.
• CPR Certification.
• EVOC certification (required upon employment/promotion).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Required undergraduate EMT certificate.
