Advanced EMT - Huntsville - PRN - Shift Varies

Responsibilities

• Affords assessments of nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures.
• Restores and stabilizes cardiac, pulselessness, non-breathing patients.
• Administers initial treatment at emergency scene and records patient's vital signs.
• Maintains good driving status and insurable driving status.
• Communicates with hospital/TCC personnel via HEMSI approved methods.
• Maintains up-to-date credentials and follows protocol changes.
• Documents patient care in all HEMSI approved reporting methods.
• Maintains safety and security procedures for vehicle and station.
• Ensures unit is always prepared through supply and equipment restocking.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance on emergency vehicle.
• Maintains a clean and orderly vehicle and station.
• Assists in directing and coordinating additional personnel on scene, including volunteers.
• Faithfully reports to work and maintains acceptable attendance.
• Provides excellent customer service to patients and family members.
• Maintains HEMSI standard on response times.

  Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Required undergraduate EMT certificate.
  • State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT.
  • CPR Certification.
  • EVOC certification upon employment/promotion.
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
