Schedule & Pay

  • Shift: 1st Shift Weekend, 4:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Friday – Sunday (36 hours worked, paid for 40)
  • Pay: $30.25/hr – $34.25/hr + 4 Comp Hours

About the Role

Position Leads are workers who have a high degree of technical proficiency in their jobs, serving as intermediaries between their supervisor and employees. Team leaders serve as mentors and trainers for their work area. The Composite Technician Lead focuses on producing and developing composite materials to enhance quality and efficiency, coordinating with engineers to study and improve designs and shop-aids, and operating machines and equipment with an eye for developing strategies and workflow. Technicians must follow instructions from engineers and strive to ensure their work meets high standards of quality. Strong communication and collaboration skills are important for working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and organize work departments daily
  • Provide direction and schedule production team members' daily activities
  • Frequently monitor and report on work progress of the team
  • Communicate with all departments, logistics, engineering, and production management, including other shifts, about needs, priorities, and issues
  • Promote flow and pull of products and information to internal and ultimately external customers
  • Identify, investigate, and address problems on the production floor
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members by investigating root causes of scrap and RMA issues
  • Work with production and quality teams to prevent recurrence
  • Train and orient new employees on company standards and procedures
  • Implement 5S tools and reduce variation in the work environment
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement activities
  • Ensure company goals and objectives are being met by each employee and provide constructive feedback

Supervisory Responsibility

Provide direction to other individuals. Oversees the daily operations of other staff, including scheduling and assigning work.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Previous team leadership experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of demonstrated technical work proficiency in the department assigned to is preferred
  • Basic experience in an ERP/MRP or resource software is preferred

Working Conditions

  • Usually work indoors; sites may not be temperature-controlled
  • Exposure to loud sounds and distracting noise levels
  • Exposure to hazardous equipment
  • Exposure to contaminants
  • Shared workspaces with other employees
  • Requires handling objects of up to 30 lbs.
  • Lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending
  • Standing and/or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day (varies based on role, shift, and overtime)

Required PPE

Appropriate PPE must be worn by all employees when on the production floor. PPE is provided by SEKISUI Aerospace based on the employee’s position and exposure.
