CNC Milling/Lathe Machine Lead-Weekend Day Shift
Position Summary
ARCH - Minneapolis is looking for a CNC Milling/Lathe Machine Lead to join our weekend day shift team!
Primary Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading production in the Milling/CNC Lathe area (on weekend day shift) and communicating with leads on other shifts.
- Responsible for managing daily priorities, assigning work to those in the department to maintain optimal flow.
- Prioritize work based upon product and resources.
- Participate in production meetings to maintain constant communication of scheduled work.
- Maintains CNC Machinist productivity to ensure correct machining processes are used and department activities are consistent with manufacturing objectives.
- Plans and coordinates workflow with other departments and scheduling function.
- Supports company policies working with direct reports and collaborates with the Leadership Team to resolve issues/concerns.
- Interviews and evaluates applicants for vacant positions.
- Occasionally set up and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce components using engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ledges process improvement, process development, and productivity improvement efforts.
- Ensures employees are performing and documenting in-process QA inspections, labor entry, and safety near miss/injuries.
- Responsible for managing and consistently maintaining a clean and organized department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a machining environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 2-year previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Contract Manufacturing experience highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work in a fast past work environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of ERP system and Microsoft office suite.
- Ability to read blueprints, use micrometers, calipers, and other QA gauges.
- Ability to set up and operate machine tools.
- Ability to program machine tools.
Additional Qualifications
- Machine Tool Technology degree (completed or pursuing).
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience operating a CNC mill machine.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.

- Exposure to manufacturing areas where temperature may vary and personal protective equipment is required.
