Adoption Attorney
About the role
The Adoption Attorney will handle a variety of adoption cases, including domestic and international adoptions, foster care adoptions, and termination of parental rights. They will work closely with families, social workers, and other legal professionals to ensure the best outcomes for all parties involved.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on legal aspects of adoption processes
- Prepare and file necessary legal documents
- Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations
- Collaborate with social workers and other legal professionals
- Provide counseling and support to adoptive families
Requirements
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school
- Member in good standing of the California Bar Association
- At least 3 years of relevant legal experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Qualifications
- Experience with family law and child welfare issues
- Knowledge of state and federal laws related to adoption
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
