Admissions & Records Clerk (Internal applicants)
About the role
This position supports the Admissions and Records area in various duties including data entry, customer service, and telephone support. It also involves assisting students with registration, graduation, and transcript requests, distributing and collecting forms, processing official transcript requests, and maintaining filing systems.
- Supports the Admissions and Records area in a variety of duties including data entry, customer service, and telephone support.
- Affords assistance to students by providing accurate information regarding registration, graduation, and transcript requests.
- Assists in the distribution and collection of forms, including petitions for degrees and certificates, credit by examination, and transcripts, etc.
- Processes official transcript requests and packages them.
- Logs and reconciles payments for official transcripts.
- Serves as a backup for campus staff at each of the four colleges.
- Maintains a filing system for incoming transcripts.
- Verifies student attendance.
- Operates a variety of modern office equipment.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Responsibilities
Examples of duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Requirements
The minimum qualifications for this position include:
- One (1) year of experience in student registration, admissions, and records maintenance or an equivalent combination of training and qualifying experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the positions.
- Knowledge and proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database management software programs (e.g., MS Office Suite, MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint, etc.) and the Internet browser, web sites and e-mail.
- Ability to type accurately from clear copy.
Qualifications
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply the rules, regulations, and policies governing rules, regulations and policies of registration and admissions. Ability to train and supervise the work of student assistants. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. Ability to speak and write effectively. Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
