About the role
The Administrator, Shipping & Receiving verifies that materials received match orders in type and quantity, routes incoming items to appropriate locations, prepares and maintains shipping records, and participates in the preparation and shipping of outgoing merchandise. This role provides warehouse services through safe, efficient, and accurate handling of customer products.
Responsibilities
- Communicates with carriers, drivers, warehouse personnel, and customers regarding shipment and receipt of product.
- Assists in scheduling receiving times, assigns trucker doors, receiving numbers, and prepares blind tallies.
- Checks outbound and inbound orders for accuracy, proper signatures, and reports overages, shortages, or damages.
- Directs and controls driver traffic and access to warehouse facilities.
- Assists in scheduling shipping times and conducting rechecks, verifications, cycle counts, and audits.
- Checks product as required by supervisor.
- Reviews documents for completeness, signs freight bills, and verifies driver identification.
- Accepts payments for C.O.D. orders and maintains logs for all product movement (inbound, outbound, staged orders, and yard management).
- Controls completion of UPS pickup record book.
- Applies the APL Logistics Continuous Improvement (ACI) Model and 5S Lean methodology to improve efficiency, safety, and operational processes.
- Ensures performance meets or exceeds company standards for safety, quality, food safety, sanitation, productivity, and customer service.
Requirements
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving operations and procedures.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and 10-key proficiency.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
- Legible handwriting and basic math skills.
- Decision-making ability regarding customer acceptance based on experience and product fitness.
Schedule
1st Shift - Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Pay
Hourly wage of $26.00.
