About the role
We have openings for five candidates to participate in a one year paid supervised internship program to become a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator. The program consists of 1,000 hours of onsite training and monthly corporate instruction.
Responsibilities
- Follows curriculum approved by the State Board of Nursing Home Examiners
- Sets up required monthly reports to the State Board of Nursing Home Examiners on the appropriate form with the signature of the Preceptor
- Attends corporate sessions conducted by subject matter experts
- Masters the five domains of practice: Customer Care Support and Services; Human Resources; Financial, Environmental Services; Management and Leadership
- Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication
- Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System
- Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System
Requirements
- Minimum starting salary is $90,000
- Minimum educational requirement: B.A./B.S. in Health Administration, Health Services Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing, or other health care related degrees
- Preferred educational requirement: Masters of Health Administration, MBA, Nursing, or other related degrees
- Relocation is a condition of employment
- A minimum of 24 months of service is required from the date the candidate is licensed
- Candidates are required to sign an agreement acknowledging the value of the program is $30,000 and if the candidate leaves voluntarily or involuntarily, they agree to repay Ethica a pro rata cost of the program

Benefits
- Compensation starts at $65,000 and increases commensurate with their first assignment as an Interim Administrator, Assistant Administrator or Administrator

- Essential associate relations functions: Participating in recruitment, employment, and retention programs, maintaining a positive working relationship with associates, knowing the names of the associates
- Essential customer service functions: Communicating well with patients and family members, responding to expressed concerns, displaying a helpful, caring demeanor, answering questions when appropriate in a professional manner, participating with Administrator in reviewing, and investigating arbitration complaints, and disputes concerning patients and families, honoring patients' rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, following guidelines relative to the prevention and reporting of patient abuse, participating with Administrator in maintaining confidentiality and safe storage of current and closed patient's records, personnel records and physical plant records with regulatory requirements
- Essential environmental services functions: Learning the responsibility for maintenance of building, grounds and equipment, following established safety regulations, reporting occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, hazardous material to supervisor, learning how to maintain appropriate documentation in regards to accidents/incidents and OSHA regulations
- Essential managerial functions: Participating with Administrator with establishing and maintaining effective inter-departmental communication to provide positive working relationships, participating with Administrator in reviewing and evaluating all recommendations of the Nursing Center's committees and consultants, complying with Corporate Compliance Program, complying with all Privacy and Security Programs, participating with Administrator in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and directing the Center's programs and activities, participating with Administrator in developing and maintaining written policies and guidelines that govern the operation of the Center, participating with Administrator in making routine inspections of the Center to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed
- Essential financial functions: Participating with Administrator to establish an annual budget for submission to the governing body for approval, adhering to the established accounting system and financial guidelines to meet operating costs and maintain internal budgeting control, keeping abreast of economic conditions/situations that impact quality patient care
