About the role

This position oversees and ensures compliance in the administration of grant-funded initiatives for private, state, and federal grants. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive Grant Management System and compliance framework across the full grant lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee assigned functional processes within the College or Division to ensure efficient, consistent, and compliant operations.
  • Supervise and provide functional oversight to assigned staff, including setting expectations, monitoring work quality and timeliness, providing guidance and feedback, supporting professional development, and ensuring adherence to grant administration and compliance standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and stewardship of departmental records and documentation, in accordance with institutional, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication, coordination, and issue resolution related to assigned functional responsibilities.
  • Represent the College and/or department in meetings, reviews, and professional activities related to grant administration and compliance, as required.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present reports and supporting documentation to inform leadership decision-making, compliance monitoring, and operational planning.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required in higher education administration, finance, business, public policy/government, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of post-award grant management experience is required.
  • Grant Professional Certification, Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS), Project Management Professional (PMP), and/or Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification preferred.
  • Experience working within higher education is preferred.
  • Experience working with sponsored program grant management databases is preferred.
  • One year of supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of post-award grant management experience.

Pay

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field. Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.
