About the role
The Administrative Supervisor at CoreCivic provides administrative support to facility management and supervises general clerical and administrative support functions. They also serve as a liaison with partner agencies and legal representatives.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the performance of general clerical and administrative support functions.
- Evaluate as prescribed by the facility and company policy.
- Train new employees, evaluate performance, and prepare performance appraisals.
- Listen to concerns and effectively resolve disputes or issues.
- Take corrective or disciplinary action.
- Develop work schedules for subordinates.
- Approve leave requests.
- Serve as a liaison with partner agencies and legal representatives, responding to inquiries or requests, or referring to appropriate staff as needed.
- Supervise the creation and maintenance of general files or other routine reports in an organized manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of records.
- Aid in the effective management of facility/department resources.
- Assist in conducting physical inventories.
- Maintain facility inventories as requested.
- Compile, prepare, and accurately maintain a variety of documents and standard operating records and reports.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
- Five years of experience in full-time secretarial, administrative office work or office management is required.
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Additional qualifying education at an accredited college, business school or technical institute in office administration or a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis up to two years.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of organizational skills are required.
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications or other similar software applications is required.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
