Responsibilities
- Processing extensive documentation for children and adults applying for SSI and SSDI benefits.
- Managing the required documentation for the Department to serve as a Representative Payee for children in care.
- Tracking and meeting strict, time-sensitive deadlines, including 10-day turnarounds for the Disability Determination Service.
- Fulfilling comprehensive medical and administrative records requests.
- Communicating directly with the Social Security Administration regarding application status and client trust documentation.
- Entering and maintaining accurate client data across multiple State software programs.
- Cooking closely with Administrative Specialists, Social Caseworkers, and Case Managers to support client needs.
- Arranging client transportation for required Social Security Administration appointments.
- Maintaining and organizing shared tracking systems using Google Workspace.
- Providing cross-coverage and backup administrative support for unit functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of professional administrative or clerical experience, ideally involving extensive documentation or complex records management.
- Highly experienced and knowledgeable in using Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) for maintaining shared documentation and tracking systems.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt communication styles to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, caseworkers, and external partners (such as the Social Security Administration).
- Ability to seamlessly adjust workflows and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities and strict deadlines (e.g., 10 days).
- Proven capacity to work independently, maintain high accuracy, and sustain productivity in a hybrid office model.
- Ability to provide cohesive, reliable administrative support across multiple Human Services divisions.
