Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Three years of increasingly responsible full-time professional staff administrative experience

Substitution of Experience for Education: Qualifying full-time increasingly responsible sub-professional, paraprofessional, or professional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis, up to four years.

Substitution of Education for Experience: Additional graduate coursework in public administration, business administration, or other acceptable field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, up to two years.

Alternative Qualification: Two years of increasingly responsible professional administrative services experience with the State of Tennessee.

Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing activities and ensure compliance with State policies
  • Research approved procurement methods, prepare requisitions and purchase orders, and coordinate purchasing needs
  • Maintain complete procurement documentation, place recurring supply orders, and review contracts as needed
  • Complete required State procurement training
  • Provide first-level desktop support, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and escalate to Strategic Technology Solutions (STS) when appropriate
  • Manage monthly incident and billing reports
  • Conduct annual and ongoing inventory audits, update equipment records, and coordinate surplus activities
  • Support computer replacement cycles
  • Assist in workstation onboarding and offboarding, ensuring proper hardware deployment, access setup, and equipment recovery
  • Maintain accurate custody documentation
  • Maintain organized, compliant records to support audits, operational continuity, and retention requirements
