Administrative Judicial Specialist Traffic Clerk
About the role
This position is a full-time Administrative Judicial Specialist-Traffic Clerk for Twin Falls County. It is open until July 13, 2026, at 10:00 PM Mountain Time. Responsibilities
- Enters new citations into Odyssey
- Takes payments, manages and reconciles till
- Processes documents for pleas taken over the counter
- Sets hearings on cases and notifies parties involved
- Annotates and serves documents by mail or e-mail
- Creates forms, form letters, and other similar court documents
- Enters dispositions into Odyssey after plea and/or payment
- Processes misdemeanor sentencings by entering judgment data from hearing in the disposition screen, annotates documents, adds payment plans, takes payments, and closes cases
- Processes money received from Advanced Collection in the appropriate cases
- Reviews paid and dismissed citations, and destroys older citations according to court protocol
- Reads and routes incoming/returned mail
- Makes sure bonds and Sheriff's fees are accepted
- Monitors on-line portal payments
- Maintains delinquent fines, fees, court costs, and restitution accounts
- Sends notifications to defendants and assigns delinquent accounts to collection agencies
- Communicates by phone, greets customers, provides general information to the public, answers questions and inquiries, and provides referrals to other departments or staff as needed
- Interacts with customers with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy
- Provides clerical and support services to staff members as needed
- Enters and maintains accurate data and complete records, files, and documentation
- Performs time management and scheduling functions, and meets deadlines
- Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate co-workers to maximize efficiency
Requirements
Employees in this class require a high school diploma or equivalent. They must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Previous experience in a clerical or administrative position is preferred but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary. Knowledge of traffic court procedures and familiarity with legal terminology are also required.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must pass a background check and drug screening. Applicants must also meet the physical requirements for the job, including the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
Skills
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Strong organizational and time management skills are also required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, is necessary. Familiarity with traffic court procedures and legal terminology is beneficial.
