Testing is required for this position. Tests must be completed and results received by the posting deadline (July 30, 2026, 10:00 PM Mountain Time) to be considered. If you previously took tests through the Department of Labor for another employer, your scores will not be automatically shared. You must submit them to Twin Falls County by the deadline. Tests required: Clerk Data Checking, Money Handling, Typing, Contact Data Entry. Scores are valid for six months; the most recent score will be used for each application.
About the Role
Performs administrative and clerical duties, specializing in services offered by the assigned department. Employees use independent judgment to apply policies and procedures, resolving non-routine inquiries and explaining department services, policies, and decisions to customers. Work involves extensive computer operations and specialized software to manage documents, records, and court hearings.
Responsibilities
- Communicates regularly by phone with attorney offices and the public.
- Reads and routes incoming mail.
- Reviews documents for accuracy and completeness before filing with the court.
- Accepts and files documents (traditional or e-filing) and ensures appropriate filing fees are paid.
- Manages and reconciles till; processes payments.
- Processes paper and electronic documents according to business standards.
- Enters and scans traditionally filed documents into Odyssey; applies document security.
- Routes documents to appropriate workflow queues and determines next actions.
- Annotates and serves documents by mail or email.
- Schedules and maintains records for parenting and child classes in family law cases.
- Creates forms, form letters, and court documents.
- Sets hearings and notifies involved parties.
- Clerks Small Claims Court and serves as backup in-court clerk.
- Handles paperwork and exhibits for court cases.
General Administrative Duties
- Greets customers, answers questions, and provides referrals to other departments or staff.
- Interacts with customers courteously and diplomatically.
- Provides clerical and support services to staff as needed.
- Maintains accurate data, records, and documentation.
- Manages time, scheduling, and deadlines.
- Coordinates with co-workers to improve interdepartmental operations.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in all cases.
- Assists other departments and County employees as needed.
- Operates recording equipment and other office tools.
