Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, develop, train, and organize workload of all front desk and Lake Farmington personnel.
- Train cash-handling employees in City Policy.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public using excellent customer service skills.
- Prepare reports and related information for decision-making, including monitoring monthly expenditure budgets.
- Prepare daily, monthly, and yearly attendance and revenue accounting reports.
- Ensure daily revenue close-outs are completed and balanced.
- Respond to public inquiries and complaints about aquatics programs made in person, by telephone, or through correspondence.
- Ensure all daily financial documentation and deposits are submitted to the City's Finance department as scheduled.
- Manage participant registration for aquatic activities and teams, including record keeping, tracking and collecting fees, dues, and registration forms.
- Work closely with the City Marketing department to design, update, and release brochures, passes, and other promotional documents.
- Collect, process, and file all P-Card statements in a timely manner to the Finance Division.
- Manage, inventory, and purchase necessary safety, office, janitorial, and recreation supplies under the supervision of Aquatics Management.
- Schedule and manage contract regular employees.
- Check timesheets for accuracy and enter payroll for the municipal pools.
- Record, organize, and update all Red Cross materials.
- Obtain Environmental Department Food Permits for special events.
- Teach aquacise (as assigned).
- Complete necessary employee evaluations.
- Prepare requisitions for expenditures related to budgetary expenses, including expenses for special accounts.
- Input invoices, FPO's, and money orders.
- Perform miscellaneous receptionist duties such as greeting customers, answering phones, collecting fees, running errands, and making arrangements for pool use.
- Assist in supervising activities throughout Aquatic Facilities.
- Assist in planning, purchasing, marketing, announcing, and running Aquatic Programs and projects.
- Operate a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.
- Serve as a member of various employee committees, as assigned.
- Gather information for media newsletters and flyers; organize, proof, and arrange for printing of newsletters.
- Perform custodial and cleaning duties of the pool facility.
Requirements
- Subject to the City's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program, including pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, return-to-duty, and follow-up testing.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent with an emphasis in business.
- Considerable knowledge of general office skills, including typing, computer use, calculator, telephone, and related office machines.
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping procedures.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of aquatic programming, or the ability to obtain such.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to work harmoniously with co-workers and interact positively with patrons.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, instructors, volunteers, and the general public.
- Valid New Mexico driver's license with an acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.
- Ability to work a varied shift including weekends and holidays.
- Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
- Must be certified in CPR/First Aid/AED or have the ability to obtain such within the first year of employment.
- Must possess Red Cross Level III swimming skills or ability to obtain such within the first year of employment.
- Knowledge of Aquatic Safety equipment or ability to obtain such within the first year of employment.
Skills
- Proficiency in personal computer use, including Microsoft Word and Excel software.
- Experience with calculator, copy and fax machines, aquatic safety equipment, phone, mobile or portable radio, and automobile.
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, sit, talk, or hear.
- Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
- Occasionally works in outside weather conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Noise level in the work environment is moderately quiet in the office and moderately loud in the field.
Pay
$18.73 - $23.05/hourly
