Job Responsibilities

You will perform a variety of administrative, technical, and/or clerical duties to support the processes and functions of the Board of Nursing.

  • Assist with disciplinary and compliance monitoring, including reviewing and serving consent orders, coordinating non-compliant and/or reinstatement procedures, and tracking disciplinary hearings and compliance documents.
  • Assist with preparing materials needed for board hearings or meetings, particularly as it relates to disciplinary matters.
  • Maintain compliance with worksite approvals and update applicable systems.
  • Conduct statistical research and report generation, using applicable databases, systems, and software.
  • Respond to customer inquiries received through walk-ins, telephone calls, e-mails, and other methods, providing timely and accurate responses to requests related to the Board of Nursing’s disciplinary and/or compliance processes.
  • Perform a variety of other administrative, technical, and/or clerical duties to support the processes and functions of the Board of Nursing, including processing applications.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
  • Considerable skill and proficiency in the use of office equipment, computers, and software and systems (i.e., Microsoft).
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of office management and general administrative functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals.
  • Ability to provide good customer service skills.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies and procedures with licensees.
  • Ability to follow both routine and complex instructions.

Other Requirements

  • Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
  • May require occasional work outside of normal office hours.
  • May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
  • Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
