About the role

Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Curriculum Management, this position provides administrative and operational support for the Office of Academic Affairs and Education's Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Accreditation functions. The incumbent will assist with accreditation activities, continuous quality improvement initiatives, assessment and evaluation processes, and digital accessibility compliance to support the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine's educational mission and accreditation standards.

This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, administrators, and institutional partners to coordinate accreditation documentation, maintain databases and reports, support committee meetings, collect and analyze assessment data, and assist with institutional reporting. The role also supports digital accessibility by ensuring documents and electronic content comply with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG accessibility standards.

Assignments require strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, interpret policies and procedures, support special projects, and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and external partners in a fast-paced academic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support for accreditation activities and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with assessment and evaluation processes, including collecting and analyzing assessment data.
  • Coordinate accreditation documentation and maintain databases and reports.
  • Support committee meetings and assist with institutional reporting.
  • Ensure documents and electronic content comply with ADA, Section 508, and WCAG accessibility standards.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, administrators, and institutional partners.
  • Interpret policies and procedures and support special projects.
  • Manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
  • Four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • Providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management.
    • Performing secretarial duties in support of a manager.
    • Coordinating communications between the manager, staff, and program clientele.
    • Supervision of subordinate staff.
    • Researching information from internal and external sources.
  • One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Pay

Grade 29 Step 1, salary $50,153.76. "Step" means the number assigned by the Division of Human Resource Management to identify a specific rate of pay within a grade. Per Nevada Administrative Code (NAC 284.170), salaries for initial appointments for classified positions typically begin at Step 1.
