About the Role
This position performs complex clerical work for one or more first-level managers, including but not limited to:
- Staff scheduling
- Assisting with payroll
- Secretarial duties
- Maintaining general office files and records
- Typing official meeting minutes
- Handling mail
- Answering phones
- Composing important correspondence without oversight
- Interpreting administrative decisions and policies
This position also examines and verifies reports for completeness, attends conferences and meetings, and may serve as a timekeeper for assigned staff. This particular role will assist our Nursing Services department, especially with scheduling.
Requirements
- 3 years of experience performing a variety of complex clerical and typing work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
- Experience with staffing and scheduling is preferred
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, must submit to a physical examination and meet the requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
- Must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and have a valid driver’s license

Pay
$18.51 per hour, non-exempt
Schedule
Full-time, regular position. Typical working hours are Monday - Friday between 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM, as needed. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime depending on business necessity.
About Us
Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is located in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as a Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults. GMH is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides inpatient hospital care for those in need of mental health and substance abuse services.
