Administrative Assistant II - Nursing Services

About the Role
This position performs complex clerical work for one or more first-level managers, including but not limited to:
- Staff scheduling
- Assisting with payroll
- Secretarial duties
- Maintaining general office files and records
- Typing official meeting minutes
- Handling mail
- Answering phones
- Composing important correspondence without oversight
- Interpreting administrative decisions and policies
- Examining and verifying reports for completeness
- Attending conferences and meetings
- Serving as a timekeeper for assigned staff
- Other duties as assigned
This particular position will assist our Nursing Services department, especially with scheduling.
Requirements
This position requires:
- 3 years of experience performing a variety of complex clerical and typing work; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
- Experience with staffing and scheduling is preferred
Special Requirements
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants must submit to a physical examination and meet the requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
- Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and have a valid driver’s license
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety-sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety-sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result
Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
Schedule
Typical working hours are Monday - Friday, ranging between 6:00am - 7:00pm, as needed.
Pay
$18.51 per hour, plus a generous benefits allowance.

Griffin Memorial Hospital is a 120-bed acute psychiatric hospital serving persons aged 18 and over with severe mental illness and provides inpatient hospital care for those in need of mental health and substance abuse services.
