Administrative Assistant II (Contingent I-Temporary)
Primary Duties
- Update PRISM, correct preceptor records and make calls to preceptor site.
- Edit, format, and revise documents and materials created by others.
- Proofread for grammatical, typographical, and basic content errors.
- Draft routine correspondence and replies to inquiries.
- Create, implement, and maintain paper and electronic filing systems.
- Enter, update, and retrieve information as needed.
- Create reports as needed.
- Research, analyze, and summarize information and source materials for reports.
- Communicate findings orally and in writing.
- Receive and read incoming correspondence and information.
- Screens out items to be handled personally and forward remainder with necessary background material.
- Handle procedural and substantive matters independently or refer callers to others as appropriate.
- Perform required administrative follow-up and recordkeeping.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to proofread and edit written documents.
- Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation programs, internet, email, and calendaring software.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3 years’ experience providing administrative support.
Hiring Range
$22.41– $29.68

- All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland.
- Additional related experience and formal education may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis.
