Administrative Specialist 2 (Part-Time, Temporary)
Job Summary
Clackamas County's Social Services Division seeks an Administrative Specialist 2 to provide advanced administrative support to executive leadership. This role supports division operations, coordinates projects, prepares reports, and manages confidential information.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Social Services Director and executive leadership team.
- Manage complex calendars, coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take meeting notes, and track action items.
- Draft, edit, and distribute correspondence, reports, presentations, and other business documents.
- Cook up travel, special events, and other administrative activities as needed.
- Cook up division-wide projects, initiatives, and special assignments, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met.
- Research, compile, and analyze information to support operational planning, decision-making, and continuous process improvement.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor spreadsheets, reports, dashboards, and tracking systems.
- Aid with budget tracking, purchasing, contract administration, invoice processing, and other operational functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience that would provide the required knowledge and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position.
- Two (2) years’ experience providing high level administrative support to multiple programs or departments.
- Strong time-management skills and multitasking ability.
- Demonstrated experience optimizing Microsoft Office Suite and other web-based platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of building rapport across diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a healthcare or social services setting.
- Experience with complex data entry including timely and accurate entry into spreadsheet and databases.
- Experience establishing and maintaining record keeping systems.
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must pass post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
- Must pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check.
Work Schedule
This position works part time up to 28 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Thursday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. This position is primarily designated as on-site/in-person. It is expected that the selected candidate will perform duties at the specified on-site work location.

The Social Services Division assists seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, and low-income residents of Clackamas County. The H3S Department, which includes six divisions, aims to improve programs and ensure better outcomes for the people served.
