About the role
Provide secretarial, administrative, and scheduling support for the College of Arts & Sciences Dean, Associate Dean, and Admin office. Monitor budget, supervise student workers, order supplies, and other clerical tasks. Other administrative and secretarial tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support faculty and staff in the College of Arts and Sciences, including LU Online.
- Work with ROTC administration to plan, execute, and coordinate events, meetings, and recruitment opportunities for ROTC.
- Manage student/cadet information on behalf of ROTC.
- Create a welcoming environment for students and families in the ROTC office.
- Afford website updates and social media.
- Adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering Liberty University’s mission.
- Schedule and supervise student workers and cadets in the department.
- Delegate weekly tasks and provide clear instructions (written and verbal).
- Maintain and monitor student worker hours in the Workday system weekly.
Requirements
Minimum of high school diploma or GED required. BA or BS preferred. Two years of experience in related field and high-volume office setting preferred.
Qualifications
- Communication and Comprehension Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well-articulated information.
- Public Communication Skills to professionally represent Liberty University to a variety of business, government and community customers and associates.
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Computer and scheduling skills.
Skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office.
- Knowledge of LU applications such as Canvas, WordPress, INFOR, and BuyLU.
- Confidentially manage student/cadet information on behalf of ROTC.
- Understand the basics of operational budget, purchasing policy, and travel planning.
- Problem Solving Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
